Hole 7: Corrimal

Par: 3

Distance: 155 metres

This is a tricky hole, depending on the pin placement.

There is a bunker on the right side as well as out of bounds. If you stray to the left, you'll probably be chipping back from the 6th tee area.

The green has two levels making it difficult to put with any authority. This green on stroke day has brought many golfers undone.

Corrimal Colliery 1870 - 1985

The Brokers Nose Coal Company opened the Brokers Nose Colliery directly below Brokers Nose, west of Corrimal. This site began its life as an exploratory adit in 1870.

In 1906 the workings encountered a large fault and the colliery was moved approximately 1.5 kilometres south and renamed the Corrimal-Balgownie Colliery.

AIS purchased the colliery in March 1964 and linked the workings with the old Mount Keira mine.

In December 1985 the Corrimal Colliery closed, having amalgamated with the new Cordeaux Colliery.
